Salmon Gruyere Quiche

I had leftover grilled salmon , so I searched for a recipe that calls for cooked salmon. I found this one which I tweaked a little and my family loved it. I chose to not make a crust but it would be good with a crust as well.

Salmon Gruyere Quiche

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs

  • ¾ cup half & half or whole milk

  • 2 cups Gruyere cheese, shredded

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • Dash of cayenne pepper

  • Dash of smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

  • 1 cup cooked salmon

  • 1 Tablespoon butter

  • ¼ cup sliced green onions

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Combine eggs and half & half in a medium bowl; whisk until well blended.
  • Add the cheese, salt,paprika, cayenne and basil; mix and set aside.
  • In a skillet, saute the green onions and garlic in butter for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Flake the salmon with a fork and gently add it to the green onion mixture.
  • Spray a 9-inch pie plate with cooking spray
  • Combine all ingredients together and pour into the pie plate.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until egg mixture is set.
  • Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
