Quick Fudge

Sometimes you just get a hankering for fudge but you just can’t drop everything and run to a candy store. This recipe is tasty, quick and easy (no candy thermometer is needed) and the ingredients are things most folks have on hand.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Karo syrup (light)

  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk

  • 3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

  • ¾ cup powdered sugar, sifted

  • 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts

Directions

  • Grease an 8x8x2” pan.
  • In a 2 quart saucepan, combine the milk, Karo syrup and chocolate chips. Stir constantly over medium low heat until melted. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in vanilla and sugar. Beat until smooth.
  • Stir in the nuts.
  • Pour into the greased pan and refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm.
  • Cut into small squares.
  • Makes 1½ lbs
