6 Tablespoons butter, room temperature
2 1/3 cups powdered sugar
¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1/3 cup whole milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions
- Place softened butter in a bowl and beat with electric mixer at medium speed until smooth.
- Add the powdered sugar, cocoa and salt, and beat until combined.
- With the mixer on low speed, slowly add the milk and vanilla extract. Beat for 2 minutes.
- With the beater at high speed, beat the frosting for an additional 2 minutes.
- Frost cake and refrigerate until ready to serve.
