Cardamom Cookies

When I moved up North a few years ago, I went to a church bake sale. I was expecting to find the standard fare…pound cakes, chocolate chip cookies and such. I knew whatever they had up for grabs must’ve been good because I had to stand outside in the snow for over half an hour just to get in the vestibule. Once inside, I saw tables filled with baked goods I had never heard of…Cardamom bread, cardamom cookies, Saffron rolls, etc. Much to my delight, I enjoyed each of the items I purchased. I decided to investigate this love of Cardamom. I learned that the Upper Peninsula is rich in Finnish culture, and who loves Cardamom more than the Finns. Luckily I found and tried 4 different cookie recipes and this was my favorite. I hope you enjoy it too!
