This cookie will surely satisfy your sweet tooth. It is a crisp, crackly cookie that is rolled in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar, baked to a light golden brown and bursting with flavor. Give me a glass of milk with these cookies and they’ll be gone in no time at all.
Snickerdoodles

1 ½ cups sugar
½ cup butter or margarine, softened
½ cup shortening
2 eggs
2 ¾ cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Mix 1 ½ cups sugar with the margarine, shortening and eggs in a large bowl.
- Stir in the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
- Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.
- In a separate bowl, mix the 3 Tablespoons sugar with the cinnamon.
- Roll each ball into the cinnamon sugar mixture and place on ungreased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart.
- Bake until set, 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to cool.
- Makes about 6 dozen cookies.

- I line my cookie sheets with parchment paper.
