Pizza Fondue

Back in the early 70’s, fondue parties were so “trendy”. I can still picture my old “avocado green” fondue pot with the color coded fondue forks. Well, the old fondue parties are back. Here is the Pizza Fondue recipe I made way back then. We enjoyed it and and I hope you will too!

Pizza Fondue

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • ½ pound lean ground beef

  • 2 Tablespoons butter or margarine

  • 2 -10 ½ ounce cans pizza sauce

  • 1 Tablespoon corn starch

  • 1 ½ teaspoons fennel seeds

  • 1 ½ teaspoons oregano

  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

  • 10 ounces cheddar cheese, freshly grated

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, freshly grated

Directions

  • Brown meat and onions in the butter.
  • Reduce to medium heat and add the pizza sauce, corn starch, fennel, oregano & garlic powder. Stir well.
  • Transfer the mixture to your fondue pot.
  • Add the cheese in thirds, stirring well after each addition.
  • When cheese has melted, serve with cubed garlic bread, French bread or English Muffins cut in quarters
