Oriental Coleslaw

Lets face it… at one time in our lives, we’ve all been invited to a party and were asked to bring a dish to share, but funds were low and we worried “what can I afford to bring?” This delicious coleslaw is the answer to your dilemma. It’s crisp, refreshing, tasty as can be and it won’t break the bank. You might just already have many of the ingredients in your cupboard and refrigerator!

Oriental Coleslaw

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

  • 1/3 cup rice vinegar

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 2 Tablespoons soy sauce

  • 2 packages Ramen Noodles, broken up

  • 3 Tablespoons butter

  • 4 ounces slivered almonds

  • 3 Tablespoons sesame seeds (optional)

  • 1 large bag coleslaw

  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped

Directions

  • Boil the oil, vinegar, sugar and soy sauce in a small saucepan for 3 minutes. Remove from stove and cool completely.
  • In a frying pan, lightly brown the noodles, almonds and sesame seeds in the butter and let cool.
  • Toss the green onions in the coleslaw.
  • Mix all of the ingredients just before serving to avoid “soggy” noodles.
