While visiting my sister Joan in Colorado, she served Kraut Burgers for dinner. They were so delicious, I just had to have the recipe. It’s now a family favorite. I make sure I make extras to enjoy the next day for lunch!

servingsYummy ground beef mixed with cabbage, onions and seasonings, nestled snugly in a soft roll and baked until golden brown
Ingredients
1 pound Ground beef
½ large head cabbage, shredded
1 large onion, sliced
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
18 frozen dinner rolls, thawed ( I prefer Rhode’s brand)
Directions
- Put beef, cabbage, onion, salt and pepper in a skillet and cook until the beef is done and the cabbage and onions are soft. Roll the rolls out into a large circle. Put a scoop full of the meat filling in the circle of dough. Pinch and twist all ends to seal. Place on baking sheet lined with parchment. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy with your favorite mustard.
Notes
- Sometimes I add about a 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder and a pinch of smoked paprika for a little twist.
