Out of all the cakes I have baked, pound cake is still my favorite. I have a few different recipes that I favor. This one is made with sour cream…and of course, BUTTER!
Sour Cream Pound Cake

2 ¾ cups sugar
1 cup butter (room temperature)
6 eggs
3 cups all purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Powdered sugar for dusting top of cake (Optional)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Grease and flour 2 loaf pans
- In mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, salt and baking soda together.
- Add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, alternately with the sour cream, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour into the loaf pans and bake for 70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool for at least 15 minutes before removing from the pan.
- 10.When cool, dust with powdered sugar if desired.
