Another tasty recipe I came across is this flavorful, tender salisbury steak, buried in cremmi mushrooms and gravy, made in your instant pot.
Salisbury Steak (Instant Pot)
Servings
4
servingsIngredients
¼ cup fresh bread crumbs
¼ cup finely diced onion
1 egg
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef
½ pound ground pork
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1-8 ounce package sliced cremini mushrooms
¼ cup dry red wine (I use Port)
2 cups beef broth
1 Tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
4 Tablespoons beef broth
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
Directions
- Combine the first eight ingredients together. Mix well and form into 8 patties (resembles a hockey puck).
- Select sauté on your instant pot, add the oil; and brown the patties for 2 minutes on each side (will need to brown in 2 batches). Transfer the patties to a plate.
- Add the onions to the pot and saute for 2 minutes.
- Add the mushrooms and sauté another 2 minutes.
- Add the wine & broth, scraping up the brown bits from the bottom of the pot.
- Stir in the tomato paste, salt & pepper.
- Return the patties and any accumulated juices to the pot and turn to coat.
- Close and lock the lid. Select high pressure for 15 minutes (allow 10-15 minutes for the pressure to build).
- When timer stops, let pressure drop on its own accord.
- 10. When valve drops, open pot and remove patties to a platter & cover with foil.
- 11. Combine the broth and cornstarch, add to the pot and cook on sauté setting for 5 minutes.
- 12. Ladle the gravy over the patties and enjoy.
