Korean Ground Beef

This simple to make dish is bursting with flavor. It’s great “as is” or get creative and add chopped water chestnuts, sesame seeds, snow peas, edame beans, bean sprouts or whatever your family enjoys. I serve this over rice, but it is also good wrapped in a lettuce leaf .

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil

  • ¼ teaspoon ginger

  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • sesame seeds & green onion tops for garnish (optional)

Directions

  • Brown ground beef with garlic until done.
  • Drain excess grease if necessary.
  • Add all the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Sprinkle on some sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired and serve over cooked rice.
