Italian Sausage and Peppers

This is a great dish to serve when a “pot luck” or “buffet” style dinner is being served. It’s easy to prepare and full of deliciousness.

Ingredients

  • 6 links (4 ounces each) sweet Italian sausage

  • 2 Tablespoons butter

  • 1 yellow onion, sliced

  • ½ red onion, sliced

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 large red pepper, sliced

  • 1 large green pepper, sliced

  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

  • 1 teaspoon oregano

  • ¼ cup white wine

Directions

  • Place sausage in a large skillet and brown on all sides. Remove from skillet and slice into 3/4inch pieces.
  • In skillet, melt the butter. Stir in the onions and garlic. Cook 3 minutes.
  • Add the red and green peppers, and cook 3 minutes.
  • Add the basil, oregano and wine.
  • Return the sausages to the skillet and reduce heat to low.
  • Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
