This is a great dish to serve when a “pot luck” or “buffet” style dinner is being served. It’s easy to prepare and full of deliciousness.
Italian Sausage and Peppers

6 links (4 ounces each) sweet Italian sausage
2 Tablespoons butter
1 yellow onion, sliced
½ red onion, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 large red pepper, sliced
1 large green pepper, sliced
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon oregano
¼ cup white wine
Directions
- Place sausage in a large skillet and brown on all sides. Remove from skillet and slice into 3/4inch pieces.
- In skillet, melt the butter. Stir in the onions and garlic. Cook 3 minutes.
- Add the red and green peppers, and cook 3 minutes.
- Add the basil, oregano and wine.
- Return the sausages to the skillet and reduce heat to low.
- Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
