Dump Cake

Here’s a scrumptious cake, bursting with fruits and nuts, that became famous back in the late 1970’s. It’s called a dump cake because you just dump all the ingredients into the pan and put it in the oven. No mixers or dishes to clean up and best of all…its so moist and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (1 lb 6 ounces) prepared Cherry Pie Filling

  • 1 can (1 lb 4oz) pineapple chunks, drained

  • I package (1 lb 2 ½ oz) yellow cake mix

  • 1 cup melted butter or margarine

  • 1 cup flaked coconut

  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease a 9×13 inch pan
  • Spread the pie filling evenly in bottom of the prepared pan.
  • Arrange pineapple chunks over the pie filling.
  • Sprinkle with the cake mix.
  • Cover with the melted butter.
  • Top with coconut.
  • Sprinkle with the walnuts.
  • Bake for 60 minutes.
  • 10. Cool thoroughly before serving.
