My youngest son John came home with this recipe several years ago. It’s been one of our family favorites ever since.
Bananas Foster

servingsIngredients
4 Tablespoons butter
½ teaspoon cinnamon
4 bananas, cut lengthwise
1 cup brown sugar
4 Tablespoons banana liquor
4 scoops ice cream
¼ cup rum
½ cup pecans or walnuts (optional)
Directions
- In a 10” skillet, melt butter.
- Add cinnamon, sugar and banana liquor and simmer for 4 minutes.
- Add the bananas and pecans/walnuts and remove from stove.
- Add rum and carefully ignite with a long matchstick. Cover with lid to extinguish flames.
- Scoop over ice cream and serve.
Notes
- May garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
